Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Monts Luisants Domaine Dujac 2016 is a rare white Burgundy made from Pinot Blanc, from a Premier Cru site in the Côte de Nuits. A revered name in Burgundy, Dujac owns a small parcel of this unique vineyard. The wine presents a precise bouquet of green apple, wet stone and white flowers, with an intense minerality and a taut, vibrant acidity. The palate is chiselled and linear, reflecting the cool terroir and the climatic challenges of the 2016 vintage.

The 2016 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Mont Luisants Blanc is a serious step up from the village cru in my opinion. It has a lovely bouquet with passion fruit and light honeyed scents, a hint of ginger developing with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, just the right amount of salinité and a brisk, focused finish. Very fine and full of charm and character. - Neal Martin

The 2016 Morey-Saint-Denis Mont Luisants 1er Cru Blanc has a very impressive, mineral-driven bouquet with assiduous reduction that lends edginess without impeding upon terroir expression. The palate is very well balanced with great depth and the volume I often look for in a Mont Luisants, almost creamy in texture on the very “gras” finish. Excellent. Tasted at Flint Wines Domaine Dujac tasting in London. Neal Martin1st March 2019

A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
