Montus 2005 is a full-bodied, Tannat-based red wine from the Madiran appellation of south-west France. In 1980, Alain Brumont purchased Château Montus to develop a wine from Madiran based exclusively on the local variety, Tannat. A true pioneer in the appellation, he has elevated the level of the wines of Madiran to rank alongside some of the great wines of France. The 2005 Chateau Montus is composed of 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Reminiscent of a fine, aged Bordeaux, is it full-bodied with plush red and black fruits, cedar, tobacco and minerals.
