Encompassing 2.06 hectares, the Montrachet of Marquis de Laguiche stands as the most extensive section of the Montrachet vineyard, entrusted to the Laguiche family since 1776. The Drouhin family has overseen its cultivation and vinification, maintaining and enhancing its reputation since 1947. The aromatic profile leans toward melon and stone fruit, complemented by sea air, florals, fresh drawn butter, and a hint of matchstick. The palate offers high intensity, coupled with exceptional precision for the vintage.

Vinous
Palish bright yellow. Knockout nose combines very ripe pear, exotic hints of orange oil and tangerine, and oak and menthol notes, with a crushed-stone element emerging with aeration. Tactile, thick and fairly dry; less showy in the early going than the Clos des Mouches, boasting a firm acid/mineral spine for the year. A note of mandarin zest gives the powerful, gripping finish a touch of positive bitterness. With its 14% alcohol, this large-scaled, energetic wine is a bit inscrutable today.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2017
