Montlandrie 2017 is a single-vineyard Bordeaux blend from the Côtes de Castillon region. Owned by Denis Durantou, renowned for his work with the illustrious L`Eglise Clinet, this estate spans 11 hectares and boasts 25-year-old vines. This blend comprises 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2017 vintage displays a medium-bodied profile defined by finesse and freshness. The aromatic core presents bright red fruit notes of redcurrant jelly and cherry, evolving into subtle earthy undertones of dusty soil tobacco and fine spice. On the palate, the tannins are noted as supple silky and finely grained giving the wine an elegant structure that makes it approachable now and suitable for medium-term cellaring.

Denis Durantou's 2017 Montlandrie is bursting at the seams with the essence of blackberry jam, chocolate, cloves, new leather, licorice and menthol. Although not especially subtle, the 2017 packs a serious punch. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the fruit remains vibrant.Antonio Galloni1st March 2020

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Montlandrie rocks up with bold blackberry preserves and plum preserves scents with hints of bay leaves, charcoal and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with black fruit and minerally accents, supported by firm, chewy tannins, finishing a little firm. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
