Château Montlandrie 2015 is a red wine from the Côtes de Castillon appellation produced by the late Denis Durantou of Château l’Église-Clinet. This 2015 bottling is an exceptional quality vintage for Bordeaux and features a profile of black cherry and violet with a distinct limestone-driven mineral core. It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc and possesses a silken texture and a refined structural frame. The wine was aged in 50% new oak to provide a polished finish while maintaining the primary energy of the fruit.

The 2015 Montlandrie is a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked between September 29 and October 8, and matured in 45% new oak. This is perhaps more precocious on the nose compared to Denis Durantou`s La Chenade and Les Cruzelles 2015s, gradually revealing an attractive floral, dried rose petal/pot pourri scent as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite grippy in the mouth, the acidity nicely judged here and again, very harmonious and sensual on the finish. You could almost whisk this out of barrel and drink this now, but preferably, give it 4-5 years in bottle. - Neal Martin

The 2015 Montlandrie has a relatively lighter, well-defined bouquet with mainly red fruit, peppermint and blood orange aromas gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannins. This is a bit stubborn, very linear and it needs more flesh and rondeur toward the finish. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting.
