Thierry Pillot Meursault Porusot 2018 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Porusot in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The young Thierry Pillot is not only a successful winemaker at his family’s estate – Domaine Paul Pillot – but he also produces exceptional cuvées under his own label. This release is Thierry’s 2018 ‘Porusot’. The vines here enjoy a limestone-predominant terroir that is perfectly suited to the production of high-quality Chardonnay.

Thierry Pillot

Though successful as winemaker at the family property, Domaine Paul Pillot, Thierry Pillot established his tiny négociant operation several years ago and rapidly garnered widespread acclaim for his small but impressive portfolios of wines. His wines are supremely terroir-driven and characterful, produced from organically farmed (uncertified) vines and with minimal new oak usage.

Making wonderful wines under his own label from some of the finest parcels of Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and St. Aubin, Thierry Pillot is a thoughtful winemaker who favours tension and crystalline purity, often eschewing more interventionist techniques and new oak to give the wines greater transparency.
