Ballot Millot Meursault Perrières 2019 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Genevrières in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Ballot-Millot et Fils is a 12-hectare property based in Meursault, which is currently run by the young and talented Charles Ballot. The heart and soul of this domaine is their Chardonnay – complex, chiselled, with pure minerality and depth. The 2019 Meursault Perrières is available here in double-magnum format. "A cool and reserved but beautifully well-layered nose combines notes of mineral reduction and white flowers with those of citrus peel and spiced apple. The racy and again almost painfully intense flavours brim with both minerality and sappy dry extract while delivering superb punch on the compact, serious and built-to-age finale. This attractively classy effort is like rolling small pebbles around in the mouth and is a wine that should age gracefully for a decade or more. Don`t miss! Outstanding." Burghound, 2021

The 2019 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a complex bouquet that blossoms in the glass: mineral-driven citrus fruit, grilled hazelnuts, dandelion and nettle. The aromatics here are very involving and keep dragging you back to the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, exquisite poise and delicate furnishings of stem ginger, lemon rind and crushed stone. It maintains precision through its tensile finish, which contains the sapidity to draw you back for another sip immediately. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
