Based in Meursault, Domaine Matrot is a family-owned property currently run by sisters Elsa and Adèle. The estate produces both red and white Burgundy, including a Bourgogne Aligoté. This release comes from the Domaine’s plot in the Meursault Premier Cru Les Perrières, where the average age of the vines is 60 years. The 1999 vintage is in a good place right now, mineral and crystalline, and with a powerful salinity that tickles your taste buds.

Vinous
Reticent but pure aromas of lemon, pear and minerals. The most intensely flavored and aromatic of these '99s; strong, ripe peach and lime blossom flavors are complemented by a strong minerality that gives the wine a tactile and distinctly dry impression. Still a bit severe, but densely packed, subtle and very long. A classic combination of power and finesse.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2001
