Meursault Genevrières Latour Giraud 2016 presents a pale yellow hue. Its aromatic profile reveals notes of citrus, including lemon and mandarin, complemented by subtle oak and traces of nutty almond. The palate is marked by a restrained character, showing a balancing act of richness and salinity. A linear acidity carries through, providing clarity and precision. Latour Giraud, a producer with a legacy dating back to the late 19th century, emphasises low yields to enhance the complexity of their wines, with Genevrières historically yielding around 30 hectolitres per hectare.

Vinous
(the yield here was just 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Latour): Rather pale, bright yellow. Alluring scents of peach, lemon, mandarin orange and smoky oak, plus a whiff of almond flower. Very suave on entry, then drier and more closed in the middle palate than the Charmes, but with excellent citrus lift to relieve its salinity. Laid-back, concentrated wine with a fine-grained texture and excellent verve. Really resounds on the salty finish. There's a lot more to come here.
