Meursault Clos Richemont Henri Boillot 2022 is a Premier Cru white wine sourced from a monopole vineyard established by Henri Boillot in 2005. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, with 60% new wood, this wine exhibits a powerful expression typical of its terroir. Expect a complex profile featuring notes of yellow fruit, acacia, honeysuckle, and spices. Domaine Henri Boillot has a winemaking lineage spanning several generations, enhancing their understanding of this distinguished appellation.
Vinous
The 2022 Meursault Clos Richemont 1er Cru is a dense, opulent white built on texture more than anything else. It is one of the most overt wines in the Boillot range. Orange jam, spice, vanillin, lemon confit and baked apple tart infuse the 2022 with tons of textural intensity. This is such a distinctive wine. - Antonio Galloni

Father and Son

In some ways, Henri Boillot has one foot in the past and one in the present. His family domaine, which he manages with his son Guillaume, has a history dating back to the 1880s, but the wines produced from their Meursault-based winery are undeniably modern, approachable and ranked among some of the very best in the region. Alongside operating a highly successful négociant business, the Boillot family own around 14 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune including a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru monopole in the form of Clos de la Mouchère.

The winery don't shy away from the use of new oak and any overtly woody character is generally well balanced by ripe fruit. The Chardonnays range from citrus driven and fresher at the villages level all the way to ripe, tropical and creamy at the Grand Cru level. The reds are lighter and more elegant than they used to be with Henri's son Guillaume preferring a less extracted style of Pinot Noir.
