Louis Jadot is one of the most consistent growers and négociants in Burgundy, offering a vast portfolio of wines – from easy-drinking, accessible Bourgogne to complex, age-worthy Grand Cru expressions. The company is today run by Pierre-Henri Gagey, assisted by head winemaker Frédéric Barnier. This release hails from Mersault-Charmes, one of Meursault`s largest and best-known Premier Cru vineyards. Here the Chardonnay grapes have been harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented in oak barrels, one third of which are new. The wine undergoes a 15-month aging period on its fine lees before bottling. The 2020 vintage is available here in half-bottles.

The palate more expressive with a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced citrus fruit laced with dessicated orange peel and stem ginger, the finish quite spicy and satisfying. Give this 4-5 years in bottle. Closure. Diam - Neil Martin - The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru was showing a bit of reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read.
