Mauro VS 2012 is a red wine produced by Bodegas Mauro, located in the Castilla y León region of Spain. This vintage features a blend of Tempranillo and Syrah grapes, sourced predominantly from the estate’s oldest vines, contributing to its complexity. The vineyards rest on varied clay-limestone soils, which influence the wine`s character. Following fermentation in stainless steel, it undergoes around 30 months of maturation in French oak barrels, allowing for development of structure and depth. The 2012 is available here in magnum.

Deep ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of black fruit preserves, cherry pastry, mocha and incense, along with cola and toasty oak notes that expand with aeration. Sappy, concentrated and lively on the palate, offering deeply concentrated blueberry, cherry-vanilla, spicecake and violet pastille flavors given spine and lift by a core of juicy acidity. Delivers a suave blend of richness and finesse and finishes extremely long and appealingly sweet, with rounded tannins building slowly.Josh Raynolds1st February 2021
