Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2023 is a complex white blend from the Languedoc, defined by a highly unusual blend of over 20 different grape varieties, led by Viognier, Chardonnay and Petite Manseng. Sourced from the cool, limestone-rich Gassac valley near Aniane, the wine benefits from a unique microclimate and the presence of truffeau stone. The 2023 vintage delivered a wine of aromatic concentration and freshness, aged for nine months in stainless steel and used oak barrels. This expression presents a compelling profile of lemon curd, beeswax and exotic fruit, supported by a rich, viscous texture and a firm, mineral-driven backbone that provides tension and longevity.

Revealing a dense, complex bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, honeysuckle, confit citrus, watermelon, spices and flowers, the 2023 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert Blanc possesses a dense, round and enveloping palate with a fleshy, sweet core of fruit and residual sugar that brings a sweet, long and somewhat ethereal finish with spicy touches. Quite singular, this seamless white wine should age gracefully over the next decade, promising continuing evolution. - Yohan Castaing
