The Mas de Daumas Gassac 2015 is an intriguing red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region, classified as an IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert Cité d`Aniane. This vintage is primarily composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, with additional varieties including Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto. The 2015 growing season was characterised by a dry winter, a warm summer and cool nights to foster grape ripening. Winemaking adheres to traditional techniques, including extended maceration in stainless steel followed by ageing in French oak.

- Ripe black currant, crushed flowers, cedar wood and leafy nuances introduce the 2015 Rouge. Lemongrass adds a refreshing layer. Albeit sufficiently concentrated, the medium-bodied 2015 shows a subtle yet noticeable rustic element. I’m curious to see how this one develops, but for now, I'm putting my money on the standout 2016.
16 Jancis Robinson
27% Viognier, 25% Petit Manseng, 21% Chardonnay, 13% Chenin, 14% others. Vinified and aged four months in stainless steel.Pear juice and lime sherbet with some smokiness. Soft acidity within the roundness of the fruit, pear and honey on the mid palate, sweetness and jasmine amplified on the finish. Not showing as well as it has done in the past. (TC)
