Duty Charges

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Château Margaux requires no introduction, being renowned as one of the most iconic producers of Bordeaux wines. This release is the 2010 vintage of its Grand Vin, a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 1.5% of each Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Bordeaux vintage of 2010 was exceptional, and numerous wines from that year have reached a delightful stage of maturity. Expect aromatic finesse, restrained power and subtle freshness.

The 2010 Château Margaux continues to deliver the goods, but like the 2005, it is a wine that demands patience. Backward on the nose, this vintage offers black fruit, crushed violet petals and mint, graphite and cedar joining the chorus line. This bouquet is only in its first chapter. The palate is one of the most structured in recent years, gripping the mouth like a Latour, the tannins perhaps having firmed up a bit in the last couple of years. But this has a crucial line of acidity that counterbalances the payload of fruit concentration with a bravura finish that is like a brass section going full pelt. Wonderful. Tasted at the château. Amazingly dark purple. Very, very strongly Cabernet Sauvignon (90% of the blend – only 2006 matched it) with some light vegetation at first which opened out and mellowed to something utterly seductive in the glass. Dry and intense. Very rich on the front and amazingly supple – it smells as though it may be going to be a bit of brute but on the palate it is still so intense and polished initially but then it is clear that there are masses and masses of tannins. There is noble, fine, perfectly confident, minerally fruit that opens out on the palate. It is thinkable to drink this already! A Legacy of Fine Wine

Château Margaux is one of the most striking constructions in the Bordeaux appellation, a large grand house built in the early 18th century on an estate that has been producing fine wine for hundreds of years, with a history dating back to the 12th century Bordeaux wine tradition. Quality was known to fluctuate in the first half of the 20th century, but that period of inconsistency ended with the arrival of wunderkind Paul Pontallier, a talented winemaker who worked nearly 35 vintages and produced some of the greatest wines in living memory. Paul passed on in 2016, and the team is now led by Philippe Bascaules and Sebastien Vergne, with consultancy from Eric Boissenot.

82 hectares are dedicated to red wine vines, with around 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Château Margaux produces around 30,000 cases of wine annually, with the Grand Vin accounting for around 35% of that total. Among their celebrated wines is Pavillon Rouge, the second wine of the estate, which stands as a testament to the estate's commitment to quality.

In addition to their renowned red wines, Château Margaux also produces a limited quantity of Sauvignon Blanc, adding another layer to their esteemed collection of Margaux wines. This white wine complements their offerings and demonstrates the estate’s versatility.
