Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The 1990 Chateau Margaux has a deep garnet-brick color. The nose positively explodes—a detonation of crème de cassis, plum preserves, and blueberry pie aromas, which is, given time and much swirling, followed by that classic Margaux perfume of candied violets, incense, fragrant soil, and fallen leaves. The medium-bodied palate is jam-packed with black fruit and exotic spice layers, supported by beautifully plush tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with loads of mineral sparks. If you are lucky enough to have a bottle, settle in for an absolute thrill ride with this legendary wine! The 1990 Château Margaux is really beginning to hit its stride at age 31, soaring from the glass with aromas of blackberries and cassis mingled with notions of licorice, cedar and violets, framed by subtle hints of vanilla and spice. Full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's seamless and complete, its velvety tannins and ripe acids entirely cloaked in a lavish but vibrant core of fruit. This is an especially dramatic, fleshy rendition of Margaux, yet it remains impeccably balanced and has decades of longevity ahead of it.William Kelley28th February 2022

The 1990 Château Margaux has an absolutely sublime bouquet with gravel-tinged black fruit, pressed violet and black truffle, much more opulent than its peers or indeed other vintages yet suffused with grace. The palate is beautifully balanced with plenty of freshness and succulence, pure black fruit, a keen line of acidity and a very harmonious finish. A Legacy of Fine Wine

Château Margaux is one of the most striking constructions in the Bordeaux appellation, a large grand house built in the early 18th century on an estate that has been producing fine wine for hundreds of years, with a history dating back to the 12th century Bordeaux wine tradition. Quality was known to fluctuate in the first half of the 20th century, but that period of inconsistency ended with the arrival of wunderkind Paul Pontallier, a talented winemaker who worked nearly 35 vintages and produced some of the greatest wines in living memory. Paul passed on in 2016, and the team is now led by Philippe Bascaules and Sebastien Vergne, with consultancy from Eric Boissenot.

82 hectares are dedicated to red wine vines, with around 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Château Margaux produces around 30,000 cases of wine annually, with the Grand Vin accounting for around 35% of that total. Among their celebrated wines is Pavillon Rouge, the second wine of the estate, which stands as a testament to the estate's commitment to quality.

In addition to their renowned red wines, Château Margaux also produces a limited quantity of Sauvignon Blanc, adding another layer to their esteemed collection of Margaux wines. This white wine complements their offerings and demonstrates the estate’s versatility.
