Located in Dezize-lès-Maranges, Bachelet-Monnot is a relatively new Domaine founded in 2005 by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet. Alongside their team, the two brothers oversee a diverse portfolio of vineyards, encompassing 20 distinct appellations. Among their notable releases is the `La Fussière Rouge` 2021, sourced from a Premier Cru vineyard in the Maranges appellation, a hidden gem in Burgundy. Anticipate a lively red wine, brimming with ripe red berries and hints of peppery spice.
Vinous
The 2021 Maranges La Fussières 1er Cru Rouge was very complex to pick, the 5.5-hectares with ten different types of ripening depending on vine age and terroirs. It has a very mineral-driven bouquet, beautifully defined with more black fruit than the Clos de la Boutière. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp red fruit, a little leafy in style and sapid with a slightly peppery finish that might fool you into thinking there were stems in the blend (when in fact, they were too green to include this year). Rising Stars

Founded by rising stars Marc and Alexandre Bachelet in 2005, Domaine Bachelet Monnot manage 10 hectares of vines in the communes in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet. The focus is on traditional techniques, terroir-led winemaking - 50% new oak is used for Grand Cru wines, but employed to a lesser extent for Premier Cru and Village-level wines.

Key vineyards for Bachelet Monnot in Maranges are La Fussière, which they produce in both red and white, and Clos de la Boutière. In Puligny-Montrachet, Marc and Alexandre produce Premier Crus Les Referts and Folatières along with Grand Crus Bienvenues-Bâtard Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet.
