Mannochmore 12 Year Old Flora and Fauna is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, part of a series highlighting the character of distilleries primarily used for blending. Known for its clean and direct style, this 12-year-old expression offers an appetising profile of green apple, grassy malt and a hint of floral sweetness. The palate is light-bodied and refreshingly dry, with a crisp acidity that makes it an excellent aperitif.

Glenlossie's Little Sister

Mannochmore is a small distillery housed within the grounds of the Glenlossie distillery in Elgin, Moray. Since its foundation in the early 1970s, Mannochmore has produced malts for use in malt blends – most notably those of the Haig and Dimple brands. However since the early 1990s its signature floral-fruity style has been given expression in a single official bottlings – a 12-year-old Mannochmore released as part of Diageo’s Flora & Fauna single malt range – as well as several special releases from independent bottlers.

One of Mannochmore’s biggest claims to fame – or perhaps notoriety – is that its malt was used in Loch Dhu ‘black whisky’. This relatively short-lived single malt, produced from double-charring of the Bourbon casks in which the spirit was to be matured, was popular in Denmark in the 1990s. Controversial to many single malt purists at the time, Loch Dhu has now become something of a collector’s item.
