Malescot St Exupéry 1982 is a red wine from the Margaux appellation, classified as a third growth. This vintage reached an alcohol level of 12.5%, reflecting the conditions of the 1982 growing season, which favoured early-ripening grapes. The blend predominantly features Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. On the palate, one can discern blackcurrant jam, leather, and truffles, underpinned by a broad texture. Malescot St Exupéry has a reputation for age-worthiness, with fully resolved tannins resulting in a long, silky finish. The estate, established in the 17th century, is known for its commitment to producing wines that exemplify the Margaux terroir`s distinct characteristics.

Bright red-ruby. Roasted aromas of red berries, spice cake and marzipan. Sweet on entry, then a bit featureless and flat in the middle palate. Ultimately rather simple, but not unpleasant.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2002

Good colour variation in the glass suggesting considerable evolution. Relatively subtle nose. Lots of fruit impact. Quite chewy with some particularly grainy tannins well in evidence. (JR)
