Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Louis Roederer’s Cristal is the pinnacle of the House’s production and is only made in the finest vintages. It is a blend of mostly Pinot Noir with the balance made up of Chardonnay from their very best vineyard plots. In the words of Cellar Master, Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, "This Cristal 2005 stands out from all other Cristal vintages due to its aromatic openness and typical “Chardonnay” character."

The 2005 Cristal is another impressive wine in this vertical, but in this case, it is its performance in a very hard year that impresses most. There’s real depth, density and textural resonance here. Apple tart, chamomile, dried flowers, pear and brioche linger. “We had some rot issues, mainly in Pinot Noir, so we focused on Chardonnay.” The Pinot components in Cristal are sourced from vineyards in Aÿ in Marne Valley and then Verzy and Verzenay on the Montagne de Reims, with an unusually high amount of Aÿ Pinot in 2005 as those sites ripened earlier and under more favorable conditions with less rot. Because of that, the 2005 is unusually round and supple in feel. The 2005 also shows a light reductive quality that is not especially typical of Cristal. “Every time the vintage is a bit open in character, we go for reduction, which is achieved by favoring tanks that are more reductive in the blend.” Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon and his team turned out a brilliant wine in this very challenging harvest. The 2005 is not the finest Cristal, but it is a real charmer. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: 2013.Antonio Galloni6th December 2023

The Czar's Cuvée

Produced by the celebrated Champagne house, Louis Roederer, and with a history spanning over two centuries, Cristal is the pinnacle of the House’s production and is only made in the finest vintages. First commissioned by Tsar Alexander II to create a special personal cuvée, Cristal was reintroduced by the House in 1924 as the first prestige cuvée Champagne.

Only produced during the best years, Cristal is a blend of around 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir, aged for six years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a further eight months after dégorgement. A wonderfully vibrant and forward Champagne in youth, mature examples offer a complex, layered experience similar to that of a fine white Burgundy.
