Louis Roederer Brut Rosé 2011 is a vintage rosé Champagne produced by Maison Louis Roederer in Reims, France. The vineyards of Louis Roederer are located in three important Champagne districts. the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, with 240 hectares situated exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus of the Marne. The diversity and fertility of these sites provide Maison Louis Roederer with an extensive and rich palette from which to fashion traditional-method sparkling wines from the three principal Champagne varieties. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. "A blend of grapes from Cumières in the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, this is a rich, well-balanced and very young brut rosé. It is ripe, while keeping an almost austere texture and acidity that will soften and broaden out as it ages. Drink now for the lively red fruits, but better to wait until 2019." Wine Enthusiast, 2016

The 2011 Brut Rosé is a reasonably good wine for the year, but the green, vegetal notes that are such a vintage signature are nevertheless present. There is just enough depth to the fruit to provide a measure of balance. The 2011 Brut Rosé is certainly better than the vintage wine of the same year. At the same time, it is hard to imagine why a house of Roederer's standing felt compelled to release this Champagne. Antonio Galloni1st December 2017

Very pale salmon colour, with a strangely herbal palate and a touch of mustiness that doesn't seem like taint, but doesn't seem congruous with the style either. Surely not in ideal condition? (RH)Richard Hemming6th September 2017

The Louis Roederer vineyards are located in three classic Champagne districts: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, with 240 hectares situated exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus of the Marne. The diversity and fertility of these sites provide the House with an extensive and rich palette from which to fashion the wines from the 3 main champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, marrying sumptuous fruit and youthful freshness with the vinosity and depth of mature wines.

With a history spanning over two centuries, Cristal is the pinnacle of the House’s production and is only made in the finest vintages. First commissioned by Tsar Alexander II to create a special personal cuvée, Cristal was reintroduced by the House in 1924 as the first prestige cuvée champagne.

Travelling beyond the borders of the Champagne region itself, Champagne Louis Roederer founded the Roederer Estate in Mendocino County’s fog-shrouded Anderson Valley in 1982, producing one of California's finest sparkling wines including Quartet and Quartet Rosé.
