Lokoya was established in 1995 and is a boutique producer of extraordinarily high quality Cabernet Sauvignon from four distinctive mountain appellations in Napa, California. These incredible sites, coupled with the supreme winemaking talent of Chris Carpenter, has ensured a trajectory to supreme Cabernet Sauvignon stardom. The Diamond Mountain is a selection of prime blocks from three vineyards between 1,200-1,800 ft elevation and and the 2012 is a towering release with incredible concentrated notes of cassis, mulberry, tobacco, graphite and liquorice.

Iron, tobacco, incense, graphite and smoke all open up in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain. Rich, ample and layered on the palate, the 2012 boasts tons of depth and plenty of personality. This is the most intensely mineral and savory of the four Lokoya Cabernets. It is also one of the more open wines in this range today. With time in the glass, the fruit takes on distinctly more red-hued tones of expression, along with distinctive floral and spice nuances that add complexity.Antonio Galloni1st December 2014

An Expression of Vintage and Place

Established in 1995, Lokoya is a collection of four distinct Cabernet Sauvignons from four of Napa Valley’s most celebrated high altitude vineyards - Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain and Diamond Mountain. These limited-production wines are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented with native yeast, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Given the high elevation of the sites, the vineyards demand constant attention. The deep understanding of the vineyard trajectory in each vintage comes from Winemaker Christopher Carpenter’s years of expertise. Intervention is kept to a minimum both in the vineyard and in the cellar, leaving the fruit to express itself as naturally and eloquently as possible.
