Littlemill 30 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the silent Lowland distillery, often cited as the oldest in Scotland before its closure in 1994. This 30-year-old release represents the rarest aged stocks, showcasing a profile that is vibrant and fruity for its age. The nose is a bouquet of honeysuckle and pineapple, while the palate is creamy and well-structured with notes of vanilla and light, grassy maltiness. It serves as a refined tribute to the delicate, floral character of this historic Lowland site.

A Ghostly Lowlander

Littlemill is rumoured to be built on one of the oldest distilling sites in Europe, with suggestions that spirit might have been produced there as long ago as the 14th century. The distillery as we recognise it today was founded in 1772 by George Buchanan and was operated by various owners with some periods of closure until it finally stopped making whisky for good in 1994. During its life, Littlemill produced whisky in the traditional Lowland style, triple distilling its spirit, while also experimenting with double distillation and both peated and non-peated expressions.

A number of post-closure official editions are available alongside a selection of independent bottlings from the likes of Hunter Laing and Hart Brothers.
