Les Forts de Latour Magnum 1996 is the second wine of the prestigious First Growth Château Latour, established in the Bordeaux region and renowned for its exceptional quality. The 1996 vintage presents a deep, dark colour with a robust, balanced structure. Crafted from younger vines in the `Grand Enclos`, this wine reflects the heritage of its esteemed producer. Les Forts de Latour typically showcases a complexity that offers insight into the meticulous vinification processes employed at Château Latour since its debut in 1966.

Vinous
Deep ruby-red. Vibrant cassis and licorice aromas. Firmer and fresher than the '97, with plenty of flesh and backbone. Dense, sweet and deep. Finishes long and subtle. A very strong vintage for this wine.Stephen Tanzer1st May 1999

A Towering First Growth
Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.
The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
