Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of First Growth Château Latour which made its debut in 1966 and is produced from the young vines of the Grand Enclos. The 2012 vintage is characterised by its dark colour with a beautiful intensity. The nose is fruity, refined, ripe and extremely expressive. On the palate, the wine is rounded and smooth, spicy and aromatic. It evolves pleasurably towards a delicious finale with fine tannins.
93 Vinous
The 2012 Les Forts de Latour has a light minty bouquet, more red than black fruit, touches of orange peel and light pencil shaving scents. The palate is medium-bodied with good density, fine tannins, becoming increasingly precise towards the finish, graphite and black pepper lingering on the aftertaste. Wonderful breeding here, a step ahead of other Deuxième Vins. Tasted twice at Bordeaux Index's Ten Year-On tasting and blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting. Neal Martin27th September 2022

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2012 Les Forts de Latour offers fragrant, open-knit scents of warm cassis, fruitcake, and spice box plus wafts of dried herbs, cigars, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate delivers a chewy frame and just enough fruit, finishing a little hard.Lisa Perrotti-Brown16th February 2023

A Towering First Growth

Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.

The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
