Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of First Growth Château Latour which made its debut in 1966 and is produced from the young vines of the Grand Enclos. 1990 was an exceptional year. During vinification, the vintage had the richness of the 1989 but with more personality and complexity. The 1990 vintage presents all the characteristics of an exceptional years. rich, complex bouquet, with aromas of candied cherries, chocolate, cedar and tobacco. A surprising richness on the palate, with extraordinary volume, class and density.
90 Robert Parker
The rich, well-endowed 1990 possesses round, generous, surprisingly concentrated flavors. It will make ideal drinking over the next 10-15 years. The most complete second wine made at this property since their glorious 1982, over one-half of the crop was relegated to this wine. Anticipated maturity. Now-2005. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

A Towering First Growth

Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.

The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
