‘Les Fiefs de Lagrange’ is the second wine of Château Lagrange which was classified as a Third Growth in the historic Classification of 1855. In 1983, the Japanese group Suntory acquired the property, becoming the first non-Western company to operate a Bordeaux Grand Cru Château. The 2014 vintage is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, aged for 13 months in oak barrels, 20% new. The wine has a soft texture and polished tannins, displaying notes of violets, purple fruits, tobacco and some leathery nuances.

Vinous
The 2014 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is bold and intense, with a real sense of gravitas to the dark red stone fruit, iron, smoke and licorice flavors. A delicious second wine, the Fiefs is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. This is in a style built for impact rather than finesse. Antonio Galloni1st February 2017
