Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

As I wrote earlier this year, the 1982 Léoville Las Cases is one of the least evolved wines of the vintage, and this impeccably conserved ex-château bottle was, if anything, even more youthful still. Retaining a saturated ruby-black hue at age 40, it unwinds in the glass with aromas of cassis and other dark fruits mingled with notions of pencil shavings and loamy soil. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad-shouldered and muscular, with an ample core of fruit framed by voluminous, powdery tannins. Rich and concentrated, with an expansive, comparatively low-acid profile, it comes into its own with extended aeration—and with food.William Kelley30th December 2022

Gentle bricking around the edges of the glass, rose petals and campfire smoke on the first nose. Elegance personified, the tannins are so fine and the overall body so fresh, that it explains right there in the glass why St Julien is loved world over. Las Cases can almost be Pauillac-like when young, but as it ages it reconnects with its St Julien character, and here it shows freshly tilled earth, loam, truffles. Very much on its drinking plateau, but the kind of wine that will quietly, unobtrusively deliver for the next two decades or more. gold, no question. Slight deposit thrown, so suggest carafing, but for the first few hours after opening I would simply let stand. 50% new oak. Michel Delon owner.Jane Anson18th January 2023

The 1982 Léoville Las-Cases was much feted back in the day, with perfect scores commonplace, though over the years I have found it rather curmudgeonly and surpassed by the '86. This has an intriguing bouquet that takes time to cohere, revealing scents of blackberry, leather, loam and light liquorice. The palate is medium-bodied with firm grip, very impressive in terms of structure, with a little more freshness than the bottle three years earlier and a bit more openness and expressiveness. However, it is outperformed by both the Gruaud Larose and the Léoville Poyferré. Tasted single blind at the 1982 dinner at Cornus in London. Neal Martin2nd December 2025

A First Class Second Growth

The illustrious 2ème Cru Classé property, Château Léoville Las Cases, has cemented its reputation as one of the most consistent producers of exceptional quality wines in the Saint Julien appellation in Bordeaux. Spanning 98ha, the estate produces its celebrated first wine - a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend - in addition to a second wine from young vines, Le Petit Lion. These stellar reds are renowned for their structure and longevity and are produced from the beating heart of the estate, on deep, well-draining gravel soils.

Two further wines are made from a separate site, situated further back from the river with more sandy-gravels: Clos de Marquis and Petite Marquise. The key varietals that make up these powerful red wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
