Château Léoville Barton is a highly lauded Saint-Julien 2ème Cru Classé estate renowned for producing old-school wines that are intensely structured and often require extended cellaring before entering their prime drinking window. The 1994 is about perfect for consuming now and is one of the most impressive releases from a vintage that was not straightforward for many.

The 1994 Léoville Barton has a similar bouquet to the Langoa Barton. A touch of peppermint complements the simple but effective black fruit. But maybe the Langoa 1994 has more panache? The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Well-balanced, old-school, tobacco-laced red fruit partner with a harmonious, tertiary finish. Lovely. Tasted at the château.
