Château Quintus is a prestigious wine estate located in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux. The estate is owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, whose portfolio also includes Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion. `Le Dragon de Quintus` is the second wine of the Château, crafted with the same dedication to quality as the estate`s Grand Vin. The `Le Dragon de Quintus 2016` is predominantly made from Merlot, accounting for 90% of the blend, with the remaining 10% being Cabernet Franc.

Luscious, touch of crème de cassis, cigar box, cherry pit and damson jam, ready to go at the 10 year point. Mariette Veyssière with Jean-Philippe Delmas overseeing. 30% new oak for ageing.Jane Anson4th February 2026
90 Jancis Robinson
Blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 le Dragon de Quintus leaps from the glass with bold blackberry preserves, stewed plums and wild blueberry scents plus suggestions of new leather, menthol and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating black and blue fruit preserves with a velvety frame and lovely spicy sparks on the finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown30th November 2018

The 2016 Le Dragon de Quintus is muddled and quite volatile on the nose, something conspicuous within this peer-group blind tasting. The palate is more controlled and balanced, the acidity commendable, spicier than its peers with decent depth on the smooth finish. I suspect that another bottle would have superior aromatics. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. Neal Martin16th April 2026
