Le Corton Bouchard 2005 is a Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the prestigious Corton vineyard in Burgundy. Bouchard Père et Fils, one of the oldest wine houses in Burgundy, has been producing wines since 1731 and is known for its commitment to tradition. This vintage reveals a robust profile of ripe black fruits, earthy notes and hints of spice. The palate is structured and firm, supported by prominent tannins and a fresh acidity, indicating a significant potential for ageing and further development in the bottle.

Good medium bright red. Ineffable aroma of musky strawberry, iron, smoke and dried rose. Silky, full and deep, with a seamless texture and captivating soil tones. As creamy and lush as this is, the dominant impression is one of delicacy and focus. Highly complex, extract-rich flavors of strawberry, minerals, mocha, earth and underbrush. A compelling wine of terroir whose captivating sweetness, fine tannins and superb persistence makes it almost deceptively drinkable today. But this big boy will be around for at least a couple of decades.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2008
