The Laubade 1978 vintage Armagnac presents a distinct expression from one of the Bas Armagnac region’s notable producers, Château de Laubade. Established in Sorbets d`Armagnac, the estate has maintained a commitment to traditional craftsmanship since its founding, with 100 hectares of vineyards primarily planted with Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes. This 1978 Armagnac was aged in Gascon oak barrels, leading to a profile that features notes of dried fruits, walnuts and a pronounced rancio character. The palate is structured, with an extended finish that reveals the intricacies of its ageing process.

Vinous
After 39 years in the barrel, this complex brandy exhibits so many levels. The bright, elegant nose begins with aromas of maple, candied orange peel, nutmeg, and vanilla bean, with distinct leather and incense. In the mouth it’s honeyed, nutty, and fruity, but balanced by a stunning, silky midpalate of green tea and tobacco, and a lengthy, textbook rancio finish. Seamless and classic.
