Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Jean-Marie Fourrier is the négociant arm of Domaine Fourrier, first introduced in the 2011 vintage. Jean-Marie buys grapes from trusted growers and favours long-term agreements where he can be involved in the vineyard management. This release comes from Latricières-Chambertin, one of the eight Grand Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin. The 2014 vintage is quite elegant and light on its feet, floral and delicate on the nose. The palate is filled with ripe red cherries and raspberries, mingling with mineral notes.
Vinous
Dark red. Lovely mineral lift to the aromas of raspberry and crushed rock. Silky and rich in the mouth but showing terrific energy and saline minerality to the red berry and menthol flavors. Superb classy wine from mostly old vines. Finishes with outstanding subtle length.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2016

The 2014 Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru has a slightly introspective bouquet, dark berry fruit with subtle woodland/sous-bois scents. There is a lovely limestone scent here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little foursquare with just a touch of austerity towards the finish. I find this to be missing a bit of charm at the moment.Neal Martin31st December 2015
