Château Latour 1995 is a prestigious Bordeaux blend from the renowned Pauillac appellation, classified as First Growth in the 1855 classification. The 1995 vintage is crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This wine displays aromas of dark plum and graphite, alongside hints of cedar and tobacco. The palate offers evolved tannins with structure and depth, reflecting the vineyard`s gravelly soils. The 1995 is presented here in double-magnum format.

Deep ruby-red color. More expressive aromas of crystallized dark berries, dark chocolate and animal fur. Lush and sweet; thick but delineated. Wonderfully concentrated. This, too, seems rather withdrawn today, but the strength of material is clear to see. Finishes with firm tannins and explosive fruit that goes on and on.Stephen Tanzer1st May 1998

Still concentrated and powerful, you could mistake this for a 1996 with its confidence muscular structure and dark spicy fruits. Just beginning to show truffle, mushroom and smoked earth as it unrolls in the palate, a thoroughly enjoyable wine. This was 2nd vintage under current director Frederic Engerer, harvest September 15 to 27, touch of rain during harvest after hot and dry summer, with three times less rain than average during June, July, August. In 1855, Latour was in the hands of the de Beaumont family, descendants of the long term de Ségur, who had arrived in 1670.Jane Anson1st June 2025

A Towering First Growth
Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.
The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
