Château Latour is one of Bordeaux`s five First Growths, and the 2019 is considered among its finest modern vintages. Using only 36% of the harvest in the Grand Vin, it is dominated by 92.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and shows deep garnet colour with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite and violet aromas. The palate is full-bodied and layered, with ripe, grainy tannins and real tension beneath the concentration. This is a wine for the long term, needing several more years in bottle before it opens fully, with a drinking window likely to be 50 years. Decant generously if opening young.

A Towering First Growth
Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.
The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
