Château Latour 1993 is a full-bodied red wine from the First Growth Pauillac property of Château Latour. Situated on the Bordeaux`s Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate`s 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned `L`Enclos`). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend. "A terrific wine for the vintage, Latour`s 1993 reveals an opaque purple colour, a backward, cedar, black walnut, cassis, and earth-scented nose, medium to full body, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, moderately high tannin (but not astringency), and sweet, long powerful finish. The wine does not possess any of the vegetal, green pepper characteristics of the vintage, nor any hint of hollowness or harshness." Robert Parker, 1998
