Château Latour is one of the oldest Bordeaux wine producing properties in the appellation of Pauillac and has a history dating back to the 14th Century. It was classified as a First Growth in 1855 and is widely regarded as one of the most consistent of all the elite châteaux, with a reputation for wines of remarkable longevity. 1982 was one of the greatest vintages of the last century and this legendary wine has, on multiple occasions, been awarded a perfect 100-point score from The Wine Advocate.

What more needs to be said about the 1982 Latour? Tasted numerous times, this is the benchmark for the Left Bank. A heavenly nose of graphite-infused black fruit, so precise and focused, with an underlying seriousness that sets it apart from the other First Growths. The palate is utter class, regal and poised, with brilliant structure yet it is not oppressive. It just glides along with an almost crystalline, mineral-driven finish. Yes, perfection. The 1982 Latour is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. It emerges from the glass with a perfumed mushroom cloud of fruit cake, mint tea, dried mulberries, kirsch, and fallen leaves notes, followed by fragrant underlying scents of incense, wood smoke, dried roses, and rusty nails. The medium-bodied palate is mind-blowingly multilayered, cushioning the fruit in soft, silt-like tannins, lifted by just enough freshness, finishing with long-lingering mineral and exotic spices notes. Chateau Latour
A Towering First Growth
Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.
The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
