Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The 2005 Château Lascombes is a superb release. The mid-2000s represents an excellent period in this illustrious Second Growth estate’s history as it had just undergone huge renovations and had the legendary winemaking consultant, Michel Rolland, overseeing production. Composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, this is archetypal Margaux with wonderful notes of sweet black fruits, violets, charcoal and graphite. Full-bodied, silky textured and layered, this is in its prime for drinking but can be expected to continue its evolution over the next decade.

Inky purple in colour even at 19 years old. This is exuberant in the style of Lascombes at the time, and it is holding up well, remaining expressive and enticing. Grilled cedar and sandalwood, blueberry and blackberry fruit, oak more evident than in the 2004 which is perhaps surprising giving the quality of the 2005 vintage, and surely speaks to choices in the cellar. Malolactic in barrel, elevage on the lees for 4 months using oxoline. Less finessed charm than some 2005 Margaux, but hard to argue with the quality. 40hl/h yield, harvest September 21 to October 19, 100% new oak. The 2005 Lascombes, served from jeroboam, has a well-defined nose with scents of blackberry, brine and cassis aromas percolating up with time, nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied, with hints of menthol and liquorice infusing the black fruit. There is good density here though it is just missing a little finesse toward the finish. I find myself smitten by the aromas, but the palate leaves me wanting more.Neal Martin31st October 2022

Modern Margaux

Château Lascombes has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century when it was owned by the Durfort de Duras family. In the 18th century, the property was acquired by the Lascombes family, who gave the estate its current name. Throughout the years, Chateau Lascombes has undergone significant changes in ownership and management. In the mid-19th century, the property was acquired by the English merchant, Alexander Lawton, who expanded the vineyards and modernized the winemaking facilities. In the 1950s, the estate was purchased by the Tari family, who continued to invest in the property and improve its quality. In 2001, Chateau Lascombes was sold to the American investment firm, Colony Capital, who implemented further upgrades and modernizations.

Today, Chateau Lascombes is a 117-hectare estate with 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are planted with a blend of grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, and are situated on well-drained gravelly soils that are ideal for producing high-quality wines. The winemaking process at Chateau Lascombes is characterized by a combination of traditional and modern techniques, with a focus on producing wines that are rich, complex, and expressive of their terroir.
