Located in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, Château Lamothe-Bergeron is a historic wine estate covering approximately 67 hectares. The estate`s Grand Vin was first ranked as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the 19th century, a classification that it still holds today. As is often the case, the 2015 blend of Lamothe-Bergeron is balanced between Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The texture is rich but gentle, without any overextraction. Silky, powerful and packed with sweet blackcurrant notes.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and touches of crushed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity but it just runs out of ideas in the last third. Up until then it was perfectly decent. Tasted September 2017.Neal Martin31st October 2017
