Château Laforge is one of the distinguished wines produced by JCP Maltus Domaines & Châteaux in the Saint-Émilion appellation. The 2019 vintage is a blend composed of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, with an ABV of 14.4%. Expect a nose filled with blackberry notes intertwined with hints of green olives and damp earth. On the palate, the wine has a rich and robust texture with plenty of velvety tannins. The finish unveils mineral accents, mushrooms, and delicate hints of sweet tobacco.
92 Robert Parker
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Laforge opens with notions of pencil shavings, rose hip tea, crushed rocks and cedar chest over a core of warm black and red plums, boysenberries and spice cake. The medium to full-bodied palate is charged with freshness and energy, offering finely grained tannins to support the red and black fruit layers, finishing long and fragrant.
Laforge is from the JCP Maltus portfolio of skillfully crafted Saint-Émilion wines. Neil White is the head winemaker, and Thomas Duclos is a consultant here. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

89 Vinous
The 2019 Laforge has more vigor than the Teyssier and offers black cherries, blueberry and flecks of dark chocolate on the nose. The smooth palate delivers fine delineation, moderate depth and lightly spiced red fruit laced with white pepper toward the finish. This is a gentle Saint-Émilion that will give several years of drinking pleasure. Neal Martin1st February 2022
