Lafite Rothschild 2012 is a Premier Cru Classé from the renowned Pauillac region. Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, this wine`s initial aromatic profile is somewhat restrained, gradually revealing nuances of dark fruit alongside hints of oak. The palate displays a structured texture with fine-grained tannins, embodying precision and harmony. The finish is persistent, allowing for a thoughtful exploration of the wine`s layered complexity. Lafite Rothschild has a storied lineage, established in 1660, consistently embodying tradition and excellence in winemaking.

Savoury bilberry, cassis and liquorice, with softer edges of tobacco and brushed leather. This is a take-your-time, unfurl-slowly kind of a wine, with slate tannins and sappy sage herbs giving a drawn-out finish. Ripe without being exuberant, showcasing graceful, sinewy muscles that feel like a signature Lafite, if lighter in style than the greatest vintages. 38% of overall production, 100% new oak. The 2012 Lafite Rothschild is medium to deep garnet colored. It struts its stuff with very spicy, exotic notes and wafts of incense over a core of creme de cassis, stewed plums, and fruitcake, plus a licorice and tar undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate delivered bags of perfumed black fruits with a velvety texture and bags of freshness, finishing long and fragrant.Lisa Perrotti-Brown16th February 2023

The 2012 Lafite-Rothschild opens with striking inner perfume. Long and beautifully persistent on the palate, the 2012 is ample and generous, but never heavy. Shades of dark red cherry and plum infusion shape the finish. The 2012 is not an epic Lafite, but it is expressive and delicious today.Antonio Galloni1st January 2016
