Château Labégorce Zédé 2005 is a Margaux Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel from the Bordeaux Left Bank. Produced in the exceptional 2005 vintage, it presents with a dense, dark colour and offers aromas of blackcurrants, blue fruits, violets, cedar and a hint of cigar box. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with concentrated fruit, a firm tannic structure and good balancing acidity, leading to a long finish.
89 Robert Parker
The 2005 is one of the finest efforts from this property in over twenty years. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the wine’s dense plum/purple color is followed by smoky aromas of incense, blue fruits as well as black currants, cedar, and a hint of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, moderately tannic, savory, and concentrated, it will require 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for a decade or more. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
16.5 Jancis Robinson
Very concentrated crimson. Scented, gentle, very sleek and expressive. Dry finish. More refined than the straight Labégorce. (JR)
