Château Labégorce 2015 is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Margaux appellation. This 2015 bottling captures the solar warmth of the year, resulting in a wine with more volume and aromatic intensity than the 2014. The blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot was aged in 50% new French oak, which has been well-integrated into the plush fruit profile. The wine carries silky tannins and a seductive, floral bouquet of crushed violets and black cherries. The palate is rich and layered, offering a level of sweetness and textural depth that is the hallmark of 2015 Margaux.

The 2015 Labégorce has a more open, expressive bouquet compared to the 2015 Pouget; touches of charcoal and black tea infuse the black and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. Quite full in the mouth and perhaps not the most sophisticated wine on the block, yet plenty of freshness and tension burst through on the finish. Give it three or four years. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.Neal Martin1st July 2019

Excellent quality, with glass-staining inky purple colour and a punch of blue and red fruits on the opening moments. Exactly what you want from this level of Margaux, has so much pesonality, is richly textured, caputres the exuberance of 2015 while retaining the elegance of the appellation.
