Raicilla is an agave spirit, similar to Mezcal, made in the state of Jalisco where Tequila rules the roost. It`s production process is more in tune with Mezcal than Tequila with the agaves roasted, not steamed.
La Venenosa Raicilla Costa is made by Maestro Tabernero Don Alberto Hernandez in Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, where he cultivates a mix of agaves. Rhodecantha and Angustifolia. Rhodecantha matures after 12 years and Angustifolia after eight. The agave is roasted in a wood fired adobe oven and then distilled twice in a copper still. Soft on the nose, white pepper, mint and aniseed with fruit and sweet spice wrapped in smoke.
