La Tour Carnet 2010 presents a deep ruby color in the glass, indicative of its Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend. On the nose, there are aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and subtle earthy notes, along with hints of tobacco and leather. The palate reveals a medium to full body, showcasing a balance of dark fruit flavors, along with a touch of spice and firm tannins that give structure, hinting at its potential for aging.
The wine originates from the Bordeaux region`s Haut-Médoc, with La Tour Carnet being classified as a fourth growth in the 1855 classification. The 2010 vintage is noted for its warm growing season, contributing to the wine’s rich fruit concentration and complexity. With a blend of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, it reflects the traditional style of Bordeaux wines, crafted to develop further in the bottle over the years.

Vinous
- Bright, dark red. Sexy aromas of black cherry, blueberry, licorice, menthol and flowers seemed to shut down with aeration. Densely packed and fresh, with sound acidity intensifying the pretty, well-delineated black fruit flavors. The wine's firm spine of tannins and acids is nicely supported by its mid-palate concentration. A very impressive vintage for this bottling, and in need of patience.
