Château La Fleur-Pétrus 2011 is a mature, Merlot-dominant Bordeaux from the Pomerol appellation on the region`s Right Bank. La Fleur-Pétrus is one of the most renowned estates in Pomerol and its Grand Vin is without doubt one of the most sought-after from the appellation. The gravel and clay terroir of the plateau of Pomerol provides La Fleur-Pétrus with its seamless combination of silky depth and elegance. Fruit from gravel soils tends to provide the elegance and lifted perfume; fruit from the clay soils the structure and density. "A medium ruby colour is followed by a vivid nose of sweet kirsch, raspberries, flowers and dusty, loamy soil notes. This terrifically scented 2011 is medium-bodied, quintessentially elegant, and loaded with flavour... This relatively forward 2011 Pomerol should drink well for 10-15 years." Robert Parker, 2014

A medium ruby color is followed by a vivid nose of sweet kirsch, raspberries, flowers and dusty, loamy soil notes. This terrifically scented 2011 is medium-bodied, quintessentially elegant, and loaded with flavor. Obviously, the Moueixs have dedicated considerable time and money to upgrade this terroir as recent vintages have been among the most impressive wines I have ever tasted from La Fleur-Petrus. This relatively forward 2011 Pomerol should drink well for 10-15 years.Robert Parker30th April 2014

The 2011 La Fleur-Pétrus has satisfying concentration on the nose, given the off-vintage in question. Light terracotta scents permeate the loose-knit red fruit and a touch of wild mint emerges with time. The palate is quite ripe on the entry, with touches of clove toward the soft landing on the finish. It has decent length. Drink this now and over the next decade.
