La Croix de Gay 2012 presents a rich blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced from the esteemed Pomerol region. The nose offers dark cherry, plum, and subtle hints of earthy undertones, intertwining with notes of cocoa and cedar. On the palate, the wine showcases a medium body with finely integrated tannins and a balanced acidity, leading to a lingering finish that reveals nuances of spice and leather.
This vintage stands out for its dedication to traditional Bordeaux winemaking practices, using grapes from a vineyard with a long history since its establishment in the late 20th century. With careful attention to detail, the wine is aged in oak barrels for several months, allowing it to develop complexity and depth. The 2012 vintage is recognized for its overall finesse, making it a notable expression of the Pomerol terroir.

The 2012 La Croix de Gay is endowed with real depth as well as tannins that are going to need time to settle down. Iron, smoke, leather, tobacco and white pepper are some of the many aromas that add nuance as the wine continues to open up in the glass. Full-bodied and powerful for the year, the 2012 should drink well for another decade or so once the tannins become a bit more friendly. - Antonio Galloni - The 2012 La Croix de Gay is endowed with real depth as well as tannins that are going to need time to settle down.
