Klein Constantia Vin de Constance 2016 Klein Constantia Vin de Constance 2020 is a full-bodied sweet wine produced from Muscat grapes in the Constantia Valley of South Africa`s Western Cape. Klein Constantia is a historic wine estate located in the Constantia Valley near Cape Town. It has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the late 17th century. Made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains grapes, Vin de Constance is arguably the finest naturally sweet wine in South Africa, renowned as much for its complexity of flavour as its extraordinary ageability. Producer note. "Deeply complex and robust, the nose is layered with Seville orange marmalade, honeysuckle and ginger. Unctuously full bodied with intense flavours ranging from dried mango to fresh vanilla and lively citrus zest. These allow for the perfect balance on the palate, showing restrained concentration with a pithy astringency and a mouth-watering finish."

Vinous
The 2016 Vin de Constance contains 165g/L of residual sugar. This has a wonderful bouquet with layers of wild honey and acacia, little-changed since I last encountered it a couple of years back. The palate is concentrated, multi-faceted yet primal at the moment. I suspect this vintage is maturing at a glacial pace, but I cannot wait to taste this at 12-15 years of age. Outstanding.
