Regarded as one of the world`s most exceptional sweet wines, Klein Constantia has gained renewed attention under new ownership, with young winemaker Matt Day taking the reins for his second vintage. Muscat de Frontignan grapes are meticulously hand-picked, ranging from just fully ripe to slightly raisined, and each batch undergoes a distinct vinification process. The resulting wine shines in a yellow-gold hue, offering an intense yet refreshingly vibrant sweetness. Its bouquet unfolds with enchanting notes of pineapple, grapefruit, ginger, white flowers, and apricots, complemented by a silky texture. On the palate, expect hints of caramel, orange, and zesty citrus peel, making for an unforgettable tasting experience.

(13.5% alcohol; 152.3 g/l r.s.): Bright light-medium gold. High-toned scents of orange marmalade, dried apricot, piercing herbs, spices, honey and marzipan. Viscous and thick (my fingers are sticking to my keyboard), with just enough acidity to maintain its shape and energy. Supersweet dried apricot and honey flavors dominate. Finishes with a bittersweet citrus edge, a suggestion of golden raisin and palate-staining length. Wonderfully concentrated, silky wine with energy.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2017
