A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Hosanna is deep garnet-purple in color. It prances out of the glass with alluring notes of crushed black plums, Christmas cake, and chocolate-covered cherries, plus suggestions of camphor, Sichuan pepper, and cumin seed with a touch of iron ore. Full-bodied, concentrated, and hedonic in the mouth, it delivers a taut yet velvety texture with soft acidity and a long, opulent finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown26th January 2023

The 2018 Hosanna has a boisterous bouquet that charges out of the glass like a bull in a bullring, delivering intense black fruit, tobacco, sage and earthy aromas, exuberant aromatics that you keep returning to and finding another nuance. The palate is just beautiful. It delivers gorgeous pure black fruit laced with truffle and tobacco, lightly spiced and very cohesive. Smooth as a baby’s bottom, it fans out gloriously on the finish, yet as I mentioned before, it is a long-term Pomerol.Neal Martin21st March 2021

Muscular, knitted down and brilliant, with layers of chocolate shavings, cigar box, grilled earth, espresso and pure cassis , blueberry and damson fruits. Always a wine with impact, with is just so confident and measured in 2018, with years ahead of it. There are chewy tannins to wade through, but they already have an electricity to them, and will reward another few years in bottle.Jane Anson5th October 2021

Chateau Hosanna

An Historic Pomerol Estate

The Hosanna estate in Pomerol dates back to the 16th century, when it was known as "Certan Giraud." However, it wasn't until the 1990s that the estate gained recognition for its outstanding wines, following a series of renovations and upgrades by its then-owners, the Moueix family. The vineyards of Château Hosanna cover approximately 4.5 hectares and are planted with predominantly Merlot, as well as smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are grown using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

The winemaking at Château Hosanna is focused on producing wines which communicate the terroir of Pomerol - younger wines are deep, with a rich flavour profile and elegant structure. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 22 months before bottling.
